Somatic Self-Development focuses on the connection between the mind and body. It is a low impact, movement class designed to help you reconnect with your body, build confidence, and cultivate a sense of safety from the inside out. Blending the principles of jiu-jitsu with breath, sound, and foundational movements, this class supports nervous system regulation while teaching effective boundary setting strategies and self-protection skills - without the intensity of full-contact training.

Somatic self-defense: the practice of integrating a deep knowing that one is worth defending and having the tools to defend oneself internally and externally.

Self-defense begins before a situation becomes physical. We have an opportunity to manage risk through cultivating an authentic relationship with our whole self, establishing core values, and having the ability to identify safe relationships through curating a healthy relationship with self.

Verbal distance management focuses on strategies to identify and set boundaries. Setting and upholding boundaries is a muscle, the more it is done, the more natural it becomes. A starting point to increase strength in our voice is to clearly identify our values. Values are the backbone to boundaries. Through identifying our values, we can confidently set and uphold boundaries from a place of high self esteem and clarity.

Jiu-jitsu, a ground fighting art, emphasizes the use of leverage and timing. It is ideal for engaging with a larger and stronger aggressor. MyLine focuses on jiu-jitsu techniques that are applicable for self-defense. A beautiful quality of jiu-jitsu is adaptability.
